Like the Cassini Probe, Georgia’s Restaurant is Truly “Out of this World” Jambalaya!
The departed Cassini space probe revealed the wonders of Saturn, its rings, and its moons to the people of Earth in ways we never imagined. As memorable as its mission was, how it got to Saturn was equally impressive. Instead of taking a direct route from Earth to Saturn (which would have required a much larger rocket and lots more fuel), NASA devised a plan to enable the bus-sized, 6.3 ton Cassini to utilize the gravitational pull from three planets to help boost its momentum on its way to Saturn. In what has become known as the Venus-Venus-Earth-Jupiter Gravity Assist (VVEJGA), Cassini was able to build up tremendous velocities necessary to reach Saturn in a reasonable time period. This “scenic route” took Cassini on a voyage almost twice as long as a direct trip to Saturn from Earth, but it enabled the probe to meet the payload limitations imposed by its launch vehicle… Amazing stuff indeed!
Like Cassini, Georgia’s Restaurant has been steadily building momentum since its opening and has become a beloved fixture on the Anaheim restaurant scene thanks to its stellar menu offerings, high quality ingredients, and reasonable prices.
